2013 Books

One of my goals this year is to read more.  In the past, I have kept a list of books read for a given year.  It might not help me read more books, but it does give me a sense of accomplishment :)

1.  In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson
 Great book.  I like Erik Larson's books.  Historical perspectives, but not boring.  I always learn something.

2012 Books, part 1?

I finished one book on vacation and got 83% of the way through another. Good reading time for me, since I barely read anymore in my non-vacation life.

The Silent Land. Good, a bit creepy. The ending was predictable. The middle was great for a while. In all, satisfying.

Breakfast with Buddha. Great. Loved the roadtrip across the heartland with stops in Chicago, Madison, Eau Claire, Minnesota.

Not sure what to pick up next. I had The Paris Wife along for vacation reading as well, but didn't get to it.

I finished a book!

My reading velocity has gone down as of late. I don't think I kept a list of books I read last year. I suspect the list would have been relatively small. Oh well, I did LOTS of other fun stuff last year. This year I am starting to read eBooks (thanks iPad!) as well as the good ol' stand by books.

I started The Cloud Sketcher sometime in fall of 2011. It wasn't boring, but it did take me some time to read it. Overall, it was pretty good. An epic tale -- similar to other books I pick up and enjoy. Love, architecture, 1920s - how could it not be entertaining?
